The objective of this research project is to investigate the effects of culturally adapted Triple P – Positive Parenting Program with Chinese fathers on improving father involvement as well as fathering skills, thereby promoting social emotional development of children. This research will be the first innovative study investigating the effect of Triple P with Chinese fathers in mainland China, which will provide scientific foundation and practical evidence to improve family education in China. More importantly, since China, as a developing country, has a huge population and great diversity, representative data can be obtained from the research, which might inform implementation of parenting programs for fathers in other developing countries.
