Different cultures, especially collectivist and individualistic cultures, have different styles of parenting. This study aims to compare a collectivist culture (Indonesia) with an individualistic culture (Australia) to determine if cultural values play a role in the relationship between parenting factors and child behaviour and emotional outcomes. The study is being conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Southern California, Universidad Indonesia and Widya Mandela Catholic University.
